"The photos do not do this beautiful home justice. Very comfortable for our group of 9 (5 kids). Lots of space and great location. Really clean and open plan really worked. Would highly recommend this home. We will be back."
Ruth, August 2024
"It's our second time in Evelyn's home and we had the most amazing and relaxed Christmas here. The house was very clean, well-equipped and spacious, just what we needed for our small family gathering. Evelyn was kind enough to send us back our speaker which we accidentally left behind. Thank you Evelyn!"

100 metres up the quiet cul-de-sac from 'Greenslieve' there's a path into the forest: turn right for Tollymore forest or left for Donard forest, the harbour and Slieve Donard, with lots of tracks and trails and panoramic views of the Irish sea. We've hiked all the Mournes and enjoy biking so there's lots we can recommend for all ages and abilities.
From the car you can enjoy the splendour of the southern Mournes by driving up Ballymageogh Road - what a view!
It's a 5 minute walk from to a beautiful sandy beach (please bring your own beach towels), promenade, pubs and lots of excellent eateries.
Want to hire a bike or an e-bike? 'Bike Mourne' on the Central Promenade provide both and also offer biking tours.
Enjoy a 'Whodunit'? Check this one out: whodunithunts.com/newcastle for a very good value self-guided murder mystery tour around the town, starting in Donard Park. A fun way to explore Newcastle!
'Greenslieve' is a great location from which to travel to all areas of Northern Ireland on a day trip. Visit Hillsborough Castle, our Royal residence; head for the city of Belfast for shopping, food tours and more (1 hour away); enjoy a day out at one of our National Trust properties, such as Mount Stewart House and Gardens. Lots to do for families too - beach, play areas and adventure playgrounds, pony-trekking, petting zoo, walking with alpacas, swimming pools, forest parks, Castle Espie Wetlands Centre and more.....
